"Ka La" Gama House
Bulembu Children's Homes

Ka La Gama is headed up by Nonthando Gama. Nonthando leads a home of seven children.

The home is set on Persimmon Street, Bulembu. It is a beautiful little home of four bedrooms and a small vegetable garden. Nonthando's main hive of activity is in the home's kitchen where everyone takes turns cooking and learning life skills.

The children do not have to walk far (about three hundred metres) to their school, The Valley of Hope. The head teacher and teachers relate well to Nonthando and regularly give reports on how the children are doing in school and especially how they are doing with their attitudes and behaviour. This close relationship makes it much easier for Nonthando to be able to train the hearts of the children and to deal with and hear issues which may well have otherwise remained hidden.

The aunt figure for the home is Lungile who covers for Nonthando for two days each week.

Missionaries Randy and Karen Brennan are helping oversee the home, being available to help Nonthando and Lungile with any need that they feel they cannot cope with. We believe that Nonthando has great potential and will provide a model for other homes yet to open.
